I would just like to say that I am writing this as I sit in the Nashville airport waiting on my flight to Minnesota! Woah this doesn’t seem real. A few years ago I would have never gotten on a plane, a few months ago I refused to go to any college outside of Tennessee, and a year ago the World Race just seemed like a crazy dream. (Praise the Lord that His plans are better than mine!) Not only am I getting to tour my dream college, but I am also getting to meet three of my squad mates! Well…….I’m meeting one of my current squad mates and two of them are from my old squad.
“Old squad? Wait what?”
Yepp, that’s why I’m writing this. With lots and lots of mixed emotions, I am announcing that I will no longer be going on the 3n9, October Route 1 Gap Year (Thailand, Guatemala, and Malawi) Instead, I will be going on the 5n9, September Route 1 Gap Year (Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Philippines)
I have TONS to say about this, but I would like to say everything when I have the time to actually sit down and completely focus on everything that brought me to this route change. Right now, I just wanted to announce it so that people are aware of what’s going on and why a few things might change on my blog! So let me just outline a few things for you –
- This is the first ever 5n9 squad
- I chose to switch routes
- I will be leaving in September instead of October
- All of my fundraising deadlines move up a month earlier
- With the extra countries, this route is an extra $1,000
- I will spend different amounts of time in each country
- Costa Rica (1 month)
- Nicaragua (1 month)
- Nepal (2 months)
- Ethiopia (2 months)
- Philippines (3 months)
I’m sorry this blog is very short and abrupt for such a huge announcement, but I just couldn’t keep it a secret anymore and wait until I had time to write a full blog post. I am so extremely happy with this change and I would love if you would rejoice with and pray over me and these new changes!
ALSO, For my 18th birthday I am asking 80 people to donate $18! (I have 6 people so far) Please consider supporting me and this crazy awesome journey I am going on. I promise it will be worth it!
And as always, if you have absolutely any questions, feel free to contact me and ask away!
