Coming into Vietnam, I was aware of the country being closed to Christianity. I knew there would be difficulties when it came to sharing the gospel, especially after the month I had in Madagascar. How can I let people know about Jesus when technically, I can’t even say his name in public.
But…
Instead of me bringing the awareness of Jesus in this country, the country brought the familiarity of the Father to me.
Jesus is all around us, all the time, everyday in every way. Jesus is in the sun and the moon, he is the flowers on the street corner and the laughter in the park. His creation was shining right in from of me but I was so focused on the outer absence of the Lord, I couldn’t see his wonderful presence around me.
I saw Jesus through the idols, the burning incense, and all the offerings laying in the altars. I saw Jesus through them because behind every shrine there was a family, a man, a child that belonged to our Heavenly Father. Even though they worship another, the Lord is fighting for them everyday. He is a Mighty Warrior. He is moving in the hearts of his people, He is sending people to this country to make His name known. He has created desires in peoples hearts to start a school centered around His name. He is calling people to stay here to continue sharing His love and His stories. If its a poster on a wall at a restaurant or a gold cross chain around a woman’s neck, then that is enough to know His Presence is alive in Vietnam.
Ministry on the Race is not about how many people you can save, we can not save anyone, we can only love them. There are souls that need saving in Vietnam, souls that only our Father can save. We are made to love them in a way that Jesus loves. To be an example and to be fruitful. We can only make ourselves available for The Holy Spirit to move in us to be ready to go where we are being lead.
His love for His people is a beautiful story, a story we are all apart of. I sense breakthroughs happening in Vietnam, I see the light pushing out the darkness. I see idols being thrown away and the name of Jesus being laid on the hearts of people. Sunday mornings becoming a day of fulfillment, A day of rest and A day to praise the Lord not because you have to but because you want to.
