This last week has been an absolute whirlwind.
I have seen the Lord do some of the most amazing things i've ever seen in my life and have received some of the greatest teaching on winning people to Jesus that i've ever gotten. After spending time in Orlando, FL to learn from Reinhard Bonnke and the Christ for all Nations (CfaN) staff this week during the School of Evangelism conference, i'll never be the same.
If you've never heard of Reinhard, he's basically Billy Graham 2.0. He's an evangelist originally from Germany, but was called to evangelize the continent of Africa at the age of 10 years old. He graduated from Bible School at age 21 and then became a pastor in Germany for 7 years before moving as a missionary to South Africa. After experiencing little success for several years, he started his organization known as CfaN in 1974 because of a vision he received in his dreams of a blood washed Africa. (This blood being the blood of Jesus) Since that time, he has seen over 73 million put their faith in Jesus through his massive crusades that he's held all over the continent and world. In fact, 55 million were saved through their campaigns from the year 2000-2009 alone! This man is reaping the greatest harvest the world has ever seen in the name of Jesus.
So anyway, he held a small conference for evangelists this past week and i have been absolutely floored at the depth of knowledge i've come away with in both how to preach the gospel and operate in the miraculous. In fact, one of the most well known aspects of Reinhard's ministry is the blind seeing, lame walking, mute speaking, etc. as he calls for it to happen in Jesus name. He has desired to impart what he has learned about this at the conference, and it has completely changed my view on how evangelism needs to happen.
The gospel i preach is still the same, but now i'm seeing that the Holy Spirit can use me to heal the sick right now.
As i began to ponder this, Wednesday night happened.
I'm driving home to Tallahassee from the conference, and i get convicted to love somebody at a gas station that i stop at. I park my car, walk in, and see a guy that (I think) i get a word of knowledge about. I walk up and ask him if he has any back pain.
He politely says no. (WHOOPS!)
I keep my cool and ask if he has any other pain. He says he has some major pain in his heel (ironic, sounds like "heal" to me…), his doctor diagnosed him with some thing which he has to go back in soon to talk about. I tell him that Jesus loves him and wants to heal him right now. I ask if i can pray for him and he agrees. I put my hands on his foot and ask Jesus to heal him right then. I take my hands off and ask him if the pain went away. He looks at me like i'm crazy and tests his heel and finds that the pain went way down. He says on a scale from 1-10 it went from an 8 to a 2! I'm freaked out, he's freaked out…basically it's awesome.
It happened again later in the week as i was at the hospital and prayed for a guy that had (i think) sciatic nerve damage for the past 13 years since he was in a car accident. I pray for him and the pain goes from an 10 to a 2! This is amazing.
I write this incredibly long post to update you on the beginnings of some of the most significant happenings in my ministry. The Lord can still heal! I intend to walk in faith believing this for the rest of my days, and will now pray for every sick person i come across as i preach the gospel, believing that Jesus wants to touch them too. This is also something that i'm gonna take with me to the nations of the World as i go on the World Race.
As a financial update, i've got something like $1300 gathered to this point confirmed. That means i have a measly $14,200 left to go. As for prayer support, I've got 2 confirmed prayer partners with the Race.
I'd love for you to partner with me, if you have not received a support letter from me and would like one, let me know. I'd love for you to join me on this journey to bring Jesus to the World. If He can still do things like what has just been mentioned, he can still shake the Earth in a mighty way. I hope you will consider joining me through prayer and financial support to do it.
I love and praise God for you.
Sterling
