Numbers of Times I Have Said “God Is Real” – Countless!
The past two months have been a blur of visits to doctor’s offices and appointments to switch bills out of my name, of making new friends and getting coffee with old ones. Each time I am asked what I do for a living, or what I have been up to lately, I explain my story and wait for the response.
“But, why would you do that?”
“Are you sure you’re not just having a midlife crisis?”
“Aren’t you scared?”
“You’re going to be living in a tent?”
“I mean, I’m happy for you… I guess.”
“So, you don’t get paid?”
Though many have been confused by my story, what I have been most shocked by has been the number of people who have NOT been confused. These people usually smile knowingly while I share, then unwrap their beautiful story of how God has been showing them the exact same things in their own context. “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul.” Psalm 66:16
God is real and He wants to be the most important being, the Lord, of our lives. He isn’t passively waiting. He is actively dethroning every competitor vying for His spot, chasing intently after our hearts.
I have had the privilege of hearing some of the ways He is making Himself real to the people of Miami and can’t wait to see all of the ways He is at work around the world, to continue to walk in the work He has prepared for me. Ephesians 2:10
