WE MADE IT!

After 36 hours of grueling travel, which includes sitting at the airport, two flights, and a bus ride, my team finally made it to Chiang Mia, Thailand!

It seems real being here but then at the same time it still feels like it’s not happening. That tomorrow I’ll be back at home doing my normal stuff.  Of course I don’t want this to happen it’s just hard to picture this life that I have experienced so far in Thailand to be my life for another 11 months. It just doesn’t seem so. Probably because I have never done anything like this before!

So far there hasn’t been a whole lot going on. Getting acclimated to the climate, culture, and time zone, a scavenger hunt all around the city to familiarize ourselves with the city and to practice getting lost and un-lost a million times and asking everyone in Chiang Mia for directions.  (No one is above asking for directions!) We’ve had some lessons about the Thai culture and some Thai words as well.  My favorite word so far is ‘sa wat dee ka’ which means ‘hello’.

I won’t have access to internet for the next week and a half.  I will post some fun pictures when I can next.  Just wanted to let you all know I am ALIVE! 🙂

Love you all and am praying for you as well!
