Exodus 33:15

“And (Moses) said to Him, ‘If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.’”

We have arrived safely here in Manila. We are currently working with Kids International Ministries, and will be working with them for the next three months. As some of you know, this is the same ministry I got to work with during this time last year. I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to love the people of the Philippines again. The memories that I have are precious, and I look forward to making more.

We will be in Manila for three weeks, and then we will travel to Tacloban and spend about two months there. We have already been plugged into ministry and have a schedule rolling. I want to share some of the ministry opportunities that we have here. We have a group that is teaching kids to swim every day. There is a children’s home that one of our groups will be pouring into, helping out with the nursery, and whatever else is needed around the home. There is a home for girls, that our girls get to spend time with every day. There are tutoring and teaching ministry opportunities at the schools around here. There is a pregnancy clinic involved with our ministry that our girls can also help with. These are just some of the many great opportunities here. My favorite one is simply spending time with the street kids that hang out right outside our ministry. I get to play basketball with them. I get to take them for snacks, and sometimes take them to a movie. Throughout all of this, the most important thing is to know that this all comes from God, is all for God, and is all only through God.

If you are thinking about doing missions, long term or short term, I hope you take the risk. I hope you seek a Story that is greater than yourself. I hope you take action on the passion that has been placed inside of you. I hope you don’t run away from home, but you run towards Him who is your home. I hope you take the courage to look fear in the eye and say that this doesn’t control me. I am not owned by anything else of this world because I have been bought with a price. I’ve been purchased by the Cross. That is what owns me. I am called his own, by the Creator of everything. As fear keeps occurring in my life, I get to walk in the Light, and I get to choose who owns me, and when I know He owns me, nothing can stop me.

Tell yourself, “My God loves me. My God is for me.” Do you believe that? Do you trust Him? Your actions will tell you what you believe.
