It’s true, for the majority of my journey preparing for the World Race I have been rather vague as to the details of where I’ll be and what I’ll be doing. Well my dear prayer warriors, I finally have some specifics for you to lift up to God!!

Monday, June 30 I will fly to Atlanta for 3 days of additional training and preparation
Thursday, July 3 My squad flies together from Atlanta to the Dominican Republic
Upon Arrival About 2/3rds of D squad (including my team!!) are heading to the city of Santiago in the Dominican Republic.

We will hit the ground running, working at H.O.P.E. ministry: Helping Others Pursue Eternity.
H.O.P.E. engages and serves the community of Santiago in various ways such as church planting and reaching out to the youth. Check it out!

According to H.O.P.E.’s websiteover 90% of Dominican youth are exposed to violence on a near daily basisDuring the first half of the month with H.O.P.E. we’ll be building relationships with teens of Santiago through a teen camp. I’m praying that from the time we spend with them they will witness the transformative power of Jesus’ radical love and forgiveness in our lives. This same power can bring their families and communities from death to life.

The second half of the month my team will head a few miles outside Santiago to the town of Moca. We’ll be spending time with a Christian church in Moca, serving their community with an English camp. Improving the conversational English abilities of the people who attend the camp will not only connect them to their local church but will multiply their opportunities for employment and further education.

So here I am, all packed up and just waiting for it to be June 30th!! Knowing the details makes me even more anxious to get out there. Jesus lived a radical life. He left it all, coming down from heaven to build relationships and to teach among us. And He invited us into that life, to depend more fully on Him. When I put my full weight on Him, He gets all the glory and I get all the joy.

Thank you for sharing in God’s heart for healing and restoration around the world, and thank you for praying for me and my team! Also, I need $7134 more to be fully fundedIf you are looking to give financially to send me, you can make a donation of any amount through the link at the top of my blog! I cannot thank you enough for sending me out covered in your prayers and supported by your money.

And finally, for the next 4 days I am in Seattle. Just waiting. So let me know if you would like to spend some time together, maybe hear more about the World Race or just talk about the World Cup (whatever!).
