I saw, heard, and was exposed to unthinkable things!!
Genocide… in the flesh!!- Rape, murder, and torture are a
few of the weapons that keep this sadistic movement in motion!
I was ignorant to the fact that there are over 1,000,000
displaced people from Burma in Northern Thailand! That changed once I came face to face with 60,000 of them in
a refugee camp!
At this very moment the “Karen people” are being hunted down
by the Burmese army- for the simple reason that they’re Karen (a tribal people
that live in the mountains- “Hill Tribe People)! The Karen are fleeing their country in hopes of
survival.
I had the privileged to meet the Karen people on the
Northern Thai Border. I listened to
their life stories. I cried with
them as I heard unthinkable things!
Stayed with them and even lived with them!
This isn’t about me but it’s about my experience coming face
to face with a mountain of evil I had only read about in books and seen in
movies!
I have come face to face with Genocide…a Genocide that is
REAL TIME- currently in motion!
What would you do if you came face to face with such evil?
Well….I’m going to tell you about my experience during the
last 6 weeks I spent Thailand!
You might call it a journey. I call it an “experience” that has had a profound effect on
me. To be honest it has shook me
to my core! I have come to many
things during my travels in the nations!
NOTHING like this!
I’ve never
heard or seen what I was exposed to during those 6 weeks. It was an experience that evolved
divine appointments, unforeseen circumstances, tragedy, and HOPE!
I went to places few have had the privilege to see and met
the people and heard stories that my ears have never heard!
This experience began 3 months ago. If you remember I took all 15 men from
my squad to Northern Thailand while all the women were working with prostitutes
in the South. From there I began
to develop a special friendship with our contact; Lets just call Him Jack to
protect his identity! Meeting Jack
was only the beginning. A set series
of events soon took place after I met Jack.
When we finished our month up North with Jack I took the
entire squad to Cambodia for the next month of ministry. But Jack and I both knew I was coming
back! One month later I brought
the squad back to Thailand to debrief and hand-off leadership. My squad continued on to different
countries with their new squad leaders while I remained in Thailand. I quickly made my way up North to meet
up with Jack!
Jake and I made a plan and action was starting to take
place!
My greatest hope was to capture the story of the people
through means of film/video!
During my time in Cambodia- I contacted friends and family
to send me what little film equipment I had back in the states- most of which I didn’t even own!
It arrived soon before I arrived back in Thailand.
With a camera, mic, and a few tapes in my bag I ventured up
North!
I just had no idea how deep I was going to get and how
quickly it was going to happen!
Please continue to join me as I share about this
experience. —Click here to subscribe!
