Our last week in India we worked with the kids at the children’s home. We would teach them English and do a Bible study, and then at night would go to a prayer meeting. During our month in India we all fell in love with the kids at Jireh, so as a special gift to them we had a surprise pizza party for them and watched Finding Nemo. It was a great night to just hang out and have fun with the kids. It was also fun to be with them for the first time they had pizza! Alicia’s mom sent her some Kraft Mac&Cheese which she made for the kids the following lunch, and it was great to get to share pieces of our childhood with them.

While India was hectic and a completely new cultural experience, with the crazy traffic, the bus accidents and people staring at us wherever we went, the ministry was amazing. I can’t even begin to truly explain my feelings for India. While the culture is very different and the heat sometimes on the verge of unbearable, I never knew I would fall in love with a ministry and a people like I did. I know I’ve talked about having to leave my heart places, but  it’s like I moved away from my 11 little brothers and sisters and I don’t really want to leave them, because I have so much more to teach and learn from them. Our last night in Bangalore we sang with the kids and we were all in tears, crying as we said goodbye. I will miss those kids so much! I miss singing with them and playing games, but I know that God is raising up a generation to change India, and I am honored to have met a few of them.

P.S. Pictures are coming soon!
