So we arrived in Phuket today!! We flew into Bangkok from LA, via Hong Kong. While the beginning of the trip was rather typical of any international flight (new release movies with questionable airline delicacy), the journey through Bangkok became an adventure. We rode these trucks to get to the bus stop, but because of an anti-government political rally our hour ride turned to 3.( http://edition.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/01/09/thailand.red.shirts.return/index.html) After that we caught a bus to Phuket, but I have to admit the greatest shock so far wasn’t the food or the language, but the fact that a public bathrooms don’t always provide toilet paper or a seat. That’s right folks, you squat over the porcelain bowl on the floor. So now that we’re in Phuket, we are training until Thursday and then head up north to our ministry site. So until then, here’s some pretty pictures!!
