I will warn you from the beginning, this blog is not going to be one of the more interesting blogs, but it is an important one!  Why will most people not think this one is very interesting? Because it’s about the money.   I will say that I am borrowing the main portion of the blog from another racer because I thought it was an important topic.

Let me begin by saying THANK YOU to all who have already donated and have committed to supporting me throughout this journey whether that be financially or through prayer!  You have no idea how much it means to me for you all to be there as a support system.

Know that while I am physically traveling the world, all of you are going with me in my heart and mind.  This is one of the reasons I will regularly update my blog.  So all of you can have an idea of exactly what God is allowing me to do around the world with your support.

So now, DOWN TO BUSINESS.

The TOTAL cost of my World Race is $16,285 (not including gear and vaccinations).   This is a very large chunk of change.  However, when it gets broken down, it is a lot less intimidating.  Now you are asking how can this amount not be intimidating.  Allow me to explain.

$16,285 – $785 (Insurance) = $15,500

$15,500/11 months = $1,409

So basically I will be living off of less than $1,500 a month, including my travel around the globe.

Now isn’t that a lot less intimidating than looking at the lump sum?

Here is another way of looking at what percentage of the money goes to where.

Here is the percentage breakdown:

The $15,500 ($785 is insurance) is broken down into these categories:

82% – Program Expenses: This category includes direct and indirect costs such as training camp, participant field expenses and support field expenses.

8% – Administrative Expenses: Our overhead covers all indirect expenses such as our Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Donor Relations, Marketing and Development departments.

10% – Program Development: Funds are reinvested into the general World Race fund to grow the program and our international relationships.

My budget while in the field is broken down into these categories:

·         Intercontinental Travel

·         Food

·         Lodging

·         Transportation

·         Long Distance Travel Miscellaneous Supplies

Now for the DEADLINES!

$7,500-June 20, 2014

$11,000-October 1, 2014

$16,285-January 1, 2015

All Donations are Tax-Deductible and can be made in a couple different ways.

Even if you can’t donate a lot, every penny helps! I promise!

IN ADDITION TO THE $16,285:
I will need gear like a backpacking bag, daypack, tent, sleeping bag, etc.
If you want to help out, and would like to gift an item to me rather than donate money please contact me by clicking the “contact me” button on the left side of the page and I can give you more information on the specific items that I need.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read through all this. I know it is tedious, but once again, this is the make or break on whether or not I can go and complete the World Race.

God has already used so many of you to provide in ways that I could never have imagined.  Thank you and bless you all as you prayerfully consider partnering with me through this process financially.

I’m so excited to experience His supernatural favor and provision in this time of preparation.
