I have put this off long enough. Here is my first official post on my World Race journey!
God has called….I am going.
My youth minister through high school told me something once and it has stuck with me all these years. I am not sure if he understood the impact a simple phrase would have on my life. The statement was, “I am ready to go, but willing to stay.” Kevin said this at a time when I had wanted to go on a short-term mission trip with the church, but the door would never open for me to go. He only said this statement once, but it has been in the back of my head every time God has shut the door for me to go. It took me a while before I honestly believed this statement and was at peace with it. God did let me go once. Then He allowed me to stay many others.
I believe He was simply preparing me for this part of our adventure together. I do not know if I would be going on the World Race if I had gone all those other times to other place. Only God knows that. But I do know this, He swung this door wide open and allowed me to leave the hallway and walk through the door into a grand adventure with Him.
Don’t get me wrong. I learned quite a bit in that hallway and had fun along the way, but I knew that was only for a season. Now the door is open and I am running full speed through that door into the world where He has called me!
