I feel like the Dominican was so long ago as it was so much different than it is here. SO much has happened since then (most of which you probably read in my previous blog). We are now living at a Christian orphanage “Cambry” and sleeping in our tents again.

Concerning spiritual things… It’s funny. I was starting to feel like we were just praying ALL the time when we were in the DR.. and I just wanted a break. But the other night, while we were praying, God told me that he wanted us as a team to spend one hour in intercessory prayer for Haiti EVERYDAY! WOW… so much for wanting a break! J Yesterday was our first day putting that into action and it was really good. This is not the time or place to be weak in prayer. We will continue to intercede daily for this country and the spiritual warfare that is present here.

As you saw in my last blog, Haiti is a very dark place, and much intercession is needed here. What is really awesome though is that there is this big festival coming up called Carnival. It is a pagan festival, but for the first time ever, the Christians will be the only ones doing anything for the festival the first day. So, we are interceding for that BIG TIME! I would ask that you all pray for that. The history behind it is that it is a totally un-Christian thing. According to Pastor Louis who is our ministry contact, thousands of girls lose their virginity during this three day festival each year and 15,000 girls get pregnant. Not only is there a spirit of sexuality over this festival, but this spirit is over this country.

Last year during the festival, a truck full of people were being extremely loud and disruptive in front of the Christian church while they were having service and the truck flipped over and killed someone. Now, the non-Christians, which is like 90% or more of the country are afraid. They believe that if they don’t dedicate the first day of their festival to God, that bad things will happen. So this year, the festival starts on Friday the 13th… yep, you read the date right and they have given the first day of the festival to the Christians and only the Christians. So, this is an awesome opportunity to bring some light into this place of darkness. And we are praying for it every day leading up to it… and we will be at the festival in person. I can’t wait to see what God does. There are pastors and prayer warriors coming in town from the capital city and missionaries coming from the US and Canada to be here for this historical occasion. I am SO excited to be a part of what God is going to do here in Haiti!!! 🙂

So… please PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
