I am in Thailand.
Staying with a family from the UK.
My team leader is from Switzerland.

With three of us on our World Race team, an English teacher, and a missionary all from the U.S. gathered at SHE this week, naturally we celebrated the American Thanksgiving holiday.

The morning devotion began our focus of being thankful today. We are all thankful for life and the many blessings we have.

The Great Pumpkin!
The center smelled lusciously of pumpkin all throughout the day. Homemade pumpkin lattes, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin crepes, roasted pumpkin seeds, and pumpkin custard were just a few of the delectable treats we enjoyed. [The Thai women learned how to make these pumpkin concoctions and copied the recipes for future SHE celebrations.]

I would like to point out that Theresa, the U.S. missionary who lives in India was a pumpkin rockstar! She definitely had the "pumpkin annointing" today.

Pumpkin fillingOne of the Thai women tried to convince me that the food was "not delicious" so that more would be left over for her to eat. I saw right through her scheme. πŸ™‚

Needless to say, by the end of the day, I had a pumpkin baby growing inside of me. My only regret? I didn't get a picture of it… HOWEVER. If you click here you can see the video from the end of the night. I only wish we were acting. πŸ™‚

Throughout the day, Christmas songs filled the air reminding us that the holiday season has begun, and we can be very thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ.

[Yes, Mom. I was the one who was playing the Christmas music before my birthday this year. I just do not know what has gotten into me!]

We even found a video of a crackling fire online!

We topped the night off by watching ELF – a Thanksgiving tradish.

Even though I missed celebrating with my family [and watching American football – go Jets!], I am SO thankful that I was able to celebrate Thanksgiving in such a great way. Laughter & love filled the house.

Family & friends back home — I am thankful for YOU! I am thankful that I am blessed so much to have so many people who love me & support me.
