My usual end-of-the-month blog.

What I learned in Cambodia:

Soccer is not my best sport – the first time we played, I scored two goals – for the OTHER team.

Cambodia uses US dollars which confused me for a few days…

Angkor Wat is one of the 7 world wonders. Sunrise is pretty spectacular.

Cambodians eat snakes…I mean, SNACKS [language differences will never not be funny to me].

“That’s just how I like it. Black and strong.” [a phrase I had to read aloud in English class].

A level 1 English class here includes lessons on…rap music, ebay, texting, and Christina Aguilera.

Apparently instead of using salt to spruce up a meal, restaurants use hefty amounts of MSG.

Candy Canes are super expensive here – $10 for 24! [which my teammate, Amber, is now bankrupt for that reason…]

Teaching “Feliz Navidad” to Cambodians in English class is quite entertaining.

My teammates can bust some moves!

Cambodian dating is a little different than American. A man must first spend much time with the woman’s family and really know he is going to marry the woman before they start
dating.

Weddings are really popular here – all with the same Pepto-Bismol pink & bright yellow theme.

We are all the same-same, but different.

Cambodian fashion includes “grills” – diamond studded teeth. Only really…

Outdoor baptisteries without covers can get pretty gross.

The ice cream motorcycle moves to the tune of the opening song of Pocahontas.

… your meatball is coming!

I have never sweat as much in my entire lifetime as I have in my 3 weeks in Cambodia…

$0.90 gelato = an almost daily event.

Cambodia has solidified my desire to one day have a house with a rooftop on which I can spend much time.

Justin Beiber reappeared in my life this month…I appreciate Thailand so much more now. 🙂

My Eastern-European doctor assured me that putting cotton balls lathered in eardrops will not make me look “sexy” while I sleep, but my ear infections would be healed. Good to know.

Pepsi-Twist has been relocated, and it was approximately 10 years old… two of my teammates had the luxury of drinking this expired beverage before discovering the expiration date on the can.

Christmas with the Q in Cambodia was amazing.

Cambodians choose what date Christmas is each year — this year, December 26th!

A two hour bus breakdown gives plenty of time to throw a football around and use the great outdoors as a bathroom.

Favorite WR Country: The Philippines [I know… last month I said Thailand, but this month I was reminded how much I love and miss The Philippines].

Next Stop: Kenya!
