On Monday, my team & I arrived safely in Malaysia. We had a cultural debriefing Monday night, and traveled most of the day on Tuesday to our ministry site.
We are staying in Bukit – a part of Penang – which feels like the melting pot of Malaysia.
Malaysian, Chinese, Burmese, Indian, Indonesian, and still other types of people live here.
We are safe. We are staying in a very safe place. All of our ministry this month is with Christian schools/churches/organizations.
Over the next 2-3 weeks, we will be doing a hodge-podge of ministry. We’re not exactly sure what all we will do, but we are willing & able to do whatever the Lord puts in front of us.
This might look like…
Volunteering at a Christian school for children with special needs.
Attending a prayer meeting for Burmese refugees.
Hanging out with abused/troubled teens.
Raising Malaysian awareness of abused children.
Sharing testimonies.
Performing dramas.
Singing/dancing.
Painting murals in hostel rooms.
Ministering in the jungle [that’s right…we’re going to the jungle!]
All of this will be crammed into 2 weeks. After that, we will join Team Gozo on an island to do ministry with them for a week before we head off to Thailand on November 6th.
Please keep my team & me in your prayers. This is an exciting, but busy month. Grace is needed all around. 🙂
Love you!
Samantha

This is just one view of the gorgeous landscape we saw on the way to Bukit – Malaysia is definitely beautiful! 🙂
