Have you ever seen your Dad “showing off?”
This isn't a bad thing. You know… like when a little boy looks up to his father SO much & thinks his dad is the COOLEST person in the entire world? When his dad hits a backyard homerun or catches the biggest fish of the day, the kid goes wild! He wants to be JUST like his dad!
Or, the times when Dad gets the kite to fly, opens a jar for Mom, or says something about the game…only to hear the announcer say the exact same thing about 15 seconds later. Dad can give an extra “knuckles” or even flex his muscles after these incidences. He’s “hip.” He knows it. 🙂
This week, my Heavenly Daddy has been showing off – BIG time.
Last week, I may or may not have freaked out a bit (which is normal for me).
I know I have enough money to go on the trip. I am allowed to get on that plane to the Philippines on September 13th. HOWEVER. All I could think about was how to get the rest of the money.
Late last week, I talked to the wonderful Cindy Flores who works for the WR. She prayed for me. She assured me that the money would come. It might not be in the way I’m expecting, but she reassured me that God will provide.
Throughout this entire week, I have been receiving unexpected money from unexpected donors – friends, organizations, former teachers & teammates, a person who just happened to stumble across my blog, family members paying me NOT to get dreadlocks, and even an anonymous sponsor.
Now, I’m not yet fully funded, but I have NO doubt that the rest of the money will come.
DAD has been showing off all week.
Does He need to?
Nope.
Why does He do this for me?
I personally think it's because HE can!
It’s that extra “knuckles” or flex of His muscles as if to say, “I’m still here. I’m not done yet. I haven't forgotten about you.” [sometimes, I REALLY need to hear that!]
He’s reminding me that He is the COOLEST Dad in the world. He’s the One I look up to & want to be JUST like.
