Literally.

We drove through sludge, slime, sewage. DUMP.

That was just to get to church this morning.

Our ministry site for the Philippines is in a city dump. We just arrived this morning, so we’re not exactly sure what we’ll be doing just yet. We attended church with a TON of children.

My heart broke.

At one point, I had two kids sitting on my lap, one on each side, and one hanging on my neck. The kids just wanted to be touched. They just wanted to be held. They just wanted to be hugged.

My heart broke just thinking about how these kids just need some love. They need someone to hold them and say, “I love you.”

I am in love already.

I am in love with these kids because the God who loves me, loves them SO much. They are his favorite children. I am SO excited to get to love them. 🙂

Please pray for my team and team Gozo who will be working together this month. We know that this will not be an easy month emotionally. Please pray for strength and love to flow out of each and every one of us.

[p.s. we are staying at a hostel about 30 minutes from the dump].

…more to come later…
