I
haven’t even left the country yet, and I’ve already had a “World Race – related
injury”
Oh
brother. I’m praying this isn’t a foreshadowing of the next 11 months.
I
can only think of one word that can describe how I felt after training camp:
EXHAUSTED.
Mentally.
Physically. Emotionally. Spiritually. i was EXHAUSTED.
Training camp was intense [and in tents. ha]
While
at training camp, I somehow got an infection in my toe. Gross, I know.
HOWEVER.
This
nasty, gross, disgusting infection turned out to be a blessing.
It
was a great bonding tool. I’m thankful for Erin Thames who helped me to clean
it out every night, Aimee Holladay for holding my hand, and Amber Kincaid for making me laugh through the pain. 🙂
On
my way home from Georgia, I had my mom meet me at the ER to figure out what was
wrong with this “Shrek” toe.
After
6 shots & lots of medicine, I was able to go home. 🙂 The doctor put me on
activity restrictions. I was told I needed to REST for the next few days.
HALLELUJAH!
I
needed this time to rest SO badly. I was supposed to be
back at camp to work on Monday morning.
had time to PROCESS what
the heck just happened. I’ve had time to pray for my teammates and Q-Squad. I’ve had time to journal
& to just rest. Rest is exactly what I needed.Thank you, Jesus!
