“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.” ~Mitch Albom

I have always been an awkward gift accepter. I can remember when I was younger, being as bad as Ralphie in A Christmas Story, about getting a kitten for my birthday. Due to a mix up between my grandparents and my parents, I actually ended with two kittens for my 7th birthday. Even though I had begged for a kitten so hard for so long, and my wish had been more than granted, I still only responded with a smile and a simple “thank you.” This may have been anticlimactic for my gift givers, but I just don’t know how to show my emotions and gratitude when it comes to accepting a gift.

I have received many generous gifts since my acceptance to the World Race and recently found myself giving a lot of smiles and simple “thank yous.” Since it is hard for me to be all mushy mushy in person, I would like to take this time in the safety blanket of my blog, to express the depth of my gratitude.

I would like to start by thanking all who have taken it upon themselves to make a financial contribution to my support fund. You all have no idea how much your generous acts have affected me. No donation is too small, and believe me, does not go unnoticed. Especially my little cousin’s offer to break into her piggy bank and donate all she had, 11 dollars (a dollar for each month I will be on the raceJ). Thank you!

In my bio, I stated that I have a close chosen family of friends that just so happen to be the best friends in the world. Well, they are stilling living true to this statement. God has been shinning through supportive acts of three special people who are very close to my heart. You see, I have been ultimately blessed to have this amazing guy in my life who has really stepped up to the support plate, Jason. He took it upon himself to organize a fundraiser on my behalf, just days after my acceptance to the race. His caring heart and eagerness to help, provided the first deposit in my support account of $300!(Amazing!) My two best friends, Lizz and Jon, have helped just as much! Aside from hours of listening to me blab on and on about how my life is about to drastically change, they have each given me so much gear (including an awesome sleeping bag from Jon and a perfect tent from Lizz) that I have had to purchase very little. Thank you!

And to my future supporters and their caring acts, thank you!

Thank you to all my supporters. Your random acts of kindness have greatly impacted my life and provides the opportunity for me to make an impact on others.

Mom, Dad, Mimi, and Papa,
I was the happiest seven year old in the world. Thank you so much for Becky and Tiger, they were the best cats ever. J
