Hello! I hope this letter finds you well. I am thankful for this opportunity to share what the Lord has been doing in my life recently. I have prayed to God for many years to lead me in the path he has chosen for me, and for many years I have comfortably walked through life with minimum hardships. Although I couldn’t be happier with where I am today, I have always known God had a bigger plan to use me for His will. I am excited to inform you of an opportunity Adventures In Missions has provided, a mission trip called the World Race. I applied and have now been accepted! My mission will take me to 11 countries in 11 months including: India, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Romania, Ukraine, and Ireland. I plan to leave January 1, 2011.
I have spent the last year as a high school special education teacher, which has been the most rewarding experience of my life. There is no doubt this was all a part of God’s plan for me. I find that my calling to teach and help others, has extend past the boundaries of my classroom walls, and into the world. I have been called to be a missionary. I long to teach orphans in Swaziland and Romania, comfort widows in Nepal, spread God’s love in Malaysia, reach out to the poor in Australia, and hold the sick in my arms in South Africa. I desire to study the gospel and trek alongside people my own age who share the same calling. And I yearn for the opportunity to grow closer to God in a way only obtainable by going outside my comfort zone.
I thank God for this opportunity that is before me now, and trust He will meet my needs. Ultimately, my prayer is that He will do so through you. This mission trip does not come with the cost of just leaving my family and friends for nearly a year, but also the dollar amount of $14,300. This is the cost of travel, living, and project expenses for 11 months. I would be honored if you could partner prayerfully and financially with me in this ministry. I am specifically asking for five people who will commit to pray for me each day until I return, and those who are willing and able, make a monetary donation. Money donated goes to the nonprofit organization of Adventures In Missions (AIM) and directly to my personal fund.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope which invites you to share in this ministry. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. I have a few deadlines to meet including $4,000 by October 6th prior to training camp, and $8,500 by December 15th (amount needed prior to departure).
