Right now I’m going to call myself out for lying and sinning towards my very own supporters. I’m not excited about doing this, but I can not go on another day with this conviction on my heart.
Before I left for this journey across the world I signed a commitment to someone very close to me. That commitment was “to write a blog EVERY SINGLE WEEK of every month”… And so far I’ve failed to do that EVERY SINGLE MONTH. The man I made that commitment to was Barry Stinson. Barry has discipled me and taught me the scriptures since I was just a boy. He’s never given up on me and he’s always been there to deliver the hard message when necessary. Barry is a wonderful man of God and I’m grateful to have him in my life. His love for me through Christ Jesus has brought me a long way.
I once said “being out on the mission field is tough and exhausting”. And I still believe that to be true, IF you do it correctly. However, even though my responsibilities are difficult sometimes and demand a lot out of me… I haven’t gone a single month without finding someone in a more difficult situation than me. Therefore, NO EXCUSE in the world can justify my lack of integrity on this matter. Today the excuses stop and I man up to my commitment I made last June. The last thing I want to be is a liar to people who’ve invested in me. Here is my new written word of commitment to YOU (supporters) and especially you Barry.
” I (Ryan) will write a blog every week for the rest of my journey overseas, to update you on what God’s doing overseas. Although I may lack accessibility to Internet, I will still write each week and post when Internet is available.”
