Hello and welcome to the blog! My name is Ryan Vogel, I’m 24 years old and I’m a World Racer!

As I write these first words, I’m already feeling the excitement in my veins as I begin this new unforeseen adventure with Christ. Although, before I begin talking about this trip and who I am, I’d like to thank all of you who support me through prayer and finances. This trip wouldn’t be possible if not for you! I would also like to say hello to my teammates reading this. I look forward to meeting you guys and learning life alongside you!

I grew up in a family of five, I have two lovely sisters and a happily married mother and father. My parents always explained the importance of living life FOR Christ and have never stopped fighting for me. On Sunday’s my church experience was a probably a little different then most kids growing up. I didn’t attended a typical Sunday church service or go to Sunday school. Instead, I went to the Stinsons house for fellowship. It is a very small and simple fellowship. Every Sunday my family and I drove to the Stinsons house to worship, pray and study the word of life. It wasn’t a fancy church, there was no large worship band, no altar or cameras recording the sermon. On the contrary, it did have a strong community of believers holding each other accountable. With only thirteen people in the fellowship it’s nearly impossible to hide. This opened up a lot of opportunities for each of us to grow. Personally It challenged me to be 100% honest with the people who loved me most. Although, sometimes being honest with the ones who love us is difficult because we fear the possibility of disappointing them. I never enjoyed any of those times I was sat down by my family and disciplined for my actions. Nobody enjoys being disciplined or corrected. But it’s necessary and the soul needs it just as much as the body needs bread. Every person needs accountable people in their lives holding forth TRUTH. Those type of people will encourage, challenge and most of all LOVE you through the thick and thin. So, even though my fellowship is small and simple I wouldn’t trade it for that big fancy church! Because in my fellowship I’m moving forward; and as long as I’m doing that… I know I’m in the right place!

Again thank you to all supporting me on this trip. I look forward to your news and encouragement like a thirsty man in the wilderness!

Blessings,

Ryan
