UPDATE: We took Joseph to get xrays today and are going to bring him back to the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. 8/22
UPDATE: Approximately six hours after posting this blog, the full $90 has come in! I cannot even express how thankful, excited, and in awe I am of God's provision for Joseph! Tomorrow I will be telling him the good news and taking him to the doctor! I will also be getting some more details about his situation and needs, and if anyone would like to financially support him further than his medical bills, I would be honored to be a liaison for you. Thank you all SO MUCH! Stay tuned for an update about how it goes and God bless your generous hearts!! 8/21
Hello family and friends!!
I have a friend here in Kenya named Joseph. He's 25 years old and does odd jobs in Nakuru to make a living. Last April he got into a terrible car accident on his way home from work. The car rolled and he was badly injured. He stayed in the hospital for a few weeks, but because he couldn't pay anymore he had to leave. His arm never fully healed, and he can't do the manual labor that he used to do. Now he sleeps in the park.
Without medical treatment, it is likely that Joseph will have to have his arm amputated at the elbow. With one arm, it will be very difficult for a poor Kenyan man to find any work or make a living at all. Joseph is a great guy- today he helped us pass out porridge to street kids, and he keeps himself clean and well. He doesn't do any drugs or sniff glue.
The amount he needs for his hospital bill is $90. Just $90.
Getting his arm fixed will change his life completely. He will be able to work, make a living for himself, move out of the park, and see the love of God through a favor that will be huge in his eyes.
Please, if you can give any amount, donate to Joseph. I promise you, you will be changing a life for the better.
If anyone would like to donate I would need the money to go into my personal account so I can take Joseph to the hospital and pay for the bill myself. If you live in Iowa my parents could deposit the money, or if you live elsewhere please contact me at [email protected].
We are leaving Kenya in just five days, but God has laid it so heavily on my heart to help Jospeh and change his life. I would never ask for additional money unless I really thought it was necessary… please please help!
Thank you all so much!

Joseph

His arm that needs treatment.
