Well sort of. We get to Nepal having no idea what our ministry is going to look like. So many questions. Are we going to be in the mountains? Please tell me we’re going to be in the mountains! Nope, we’re nowhere near the mountains. My team is on the complete opposite side of the country. Way down south. We are actually only 13 miles away from the Indian border. I definitely was slightly disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to see the Himalayas this month. But boy did that disappointment go away quickly as we reached our ministry site for the month.
We are living in a village called Haripur in the district of Sarlahi in south Nepal. Don’t bother looking it up, you won’t find it. Our contact has built a house here with a church and a school. Kids roam freely every day. We have water buffalo in the back that we have had the opportunity to milk (I did not partake, I watched from afar). Every day we get to drink tea made from the water buffalo milk. I never thought that I would have buffalo anything in my life.
This month has also been my favorite for food. You all are probably in shock that my favorite wasn’t in India. Well it would have been, but we didn’t get to truly experience the food in India. And we are so close to India that the food is very similar.
This month has been what I expected the entire world race to look like. We have been going to villages and allowing people to gather around us. Then we just start sharing the Gospel. We tell them that God sent Jesus to die on the cross for them. We tell them that through His grace, by faith, we are saved. We tell them how much they are loved by our marvelous Creator. And the biggest thing that has struck me is how receptive people have been to what we have been saying. The people ask questions. They want to know more. They want the tracks that we are handing out. Wow! I don’t know if I could see that happening in the states.
Of course we have faced our share of people getting upset. One woman started yelling at us, mad that we come in trying to change their way of thinking. Some are upset that we don’t do anything for them and just come and spit words at them. But that is not true, we have gone to villages and passed out beanies to keep people warm. And before our team had arrived the previous team had passed out blankets to people.
But we are bound to face opposition. The Bible says so. But that doesn’t stop us. We keep on going. We are sharing Good News. We are sharing the best News to ever hit this planet. That Jesus Christ, our LORD and Savior, died on the cross to free us! And that News is worth every bit of opposition we face.
This month has been an amazing month. I have seen God moving in ways that I hadn’t seen before. I am excited to see what the rest of the month has in store. We have less than two weeks left here now. It’s gone by so quickly! But I know I’ll see the people here again one day, in Heaven!
Thanks to all of you for reading my blog and praying for me and supporting me. It means more to me than you know!
Much Love,
Raj Mahal
PS. I am still in need of $755 by the end of this month to be fully funded. I know many, if not all of you, have been supporting me, and I can’t express how appreciative I am. If you feel like you can give a little more, or if you know someone who you think might want to donate to me I would be super thankful. God is doing amazing things, and I don’t want this journey to end for me. I have complete faith that God will provide. But it may be through you that he finds the means to do so! Thanks so much again!
