So i'm new to this whole blog thing, so forgive during my learning period.
One thing I felt that all my blog readers should know is how i came to become a Christian.
I was raised a Hindu. However, a couple of years ago I realized that not only did I not know much about Hinduism, what I did know did not hold consistent with my beliefs. This is when I decided to take it into my own hands to really find what I believe.
I have been fortunate to have friends in my life that truly care about me that helped me in this difficult process. I started by reading. I did a lot of reading. The first things I read were by the author Lee Strobel. They were two books, A Case for Christ and A Case for Faith. I found that these books were exactly what I was looking for! Written from the perspective of a former atheist, Strobel conducted a series of interviews asking tough questions about Christianity, trying to disprove it. But every step of the way not only could I see that the author was changing throughout the book, I could fel something changing within myself.
I started going to a campus wide worship/bible study known as Breakaway, at Texas A&M with some friends, not really knowing what to expect. I learned about the bible every week. I began to learn God's word, and even today I continue to go to Breakaway on a weekly basis.
The defining moment in my path to finding Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior was at the Passion Conference. Francis Chan, the author of Crazy Love, was speaking. He told a story of running across an 11 year old boy in India. This boy had converted from Hinduism to Christianity, only to find himself shunned by his family. Hearing of the strength of this boy, the courage of this boy literally had me weeping in my seat. This was the moment that I declared myself a Christian.
Now I am doing my best to really live a Godly life. Trying to learn as much scripture as possible. I feel that going on The World Race is something I am being called to do and I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to change the hearts of so many people around the world.
I can't wait to share with y'all all about my upcoming journey!
