To those who I am blessed enough to call family and friends,
I hope this letter finds you in a happy place with all of your wildest dreams coming true. I am writing to invite you to participate in an adventure on which God has called me beginning this coming July.
This call involves me giving 11 months of my life wearing the title of World-wide Missionary. I will be working through an organization called Adventures In Missions in a program they call The World Race. On the Race, teams of young people travel to 11 different countries and partner with various missions and ministries already doing good works in each country. These organizations focus on a range of causes, each based on the need of the area they are serving; from preaching the Gospel by planting churches to running orphanages for victims of attempted child sacrifice. The needs of the people are endless and our teams will be assisting those that are out in the world meeting the need already.
So, with a tent, a Bible, and a year’s worth of life crammed in a backpack, I will spend a month in each country beginning July 1, 2014. The tentative route is as follows: Albania, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, India , Nepal, Mongolia, and China. Like the Blues Brothers, I will be on a Mission from God and, like Bilbo Baggins, I will be leaving the comfort of my Hobbit hole to go on a great adventure to change the world for good. And here’s how you can take part in it with me.
Prayer. Seriously, please be praying. The journey will be great, but it may be taxing. 11 months away from home is a long time and I know there will be days where only your prayers will get us through. To serve God by serving others is a gift, but prayer support is essential!
Financial Contributions. I must raise $16,285 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses on the field (travel and transportation, food, lodging, medical insurance, etc.). for the entirety of the mission. Through saving and making personal sacrifices, I have already set aside nearly 1/4 of my costs and will continue to save as much as I can until my launch in July. However, I can’t do it all on my own. I need your help and would most appreciate your financial support that will make this opportunity a reality.
Financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry.
