If you want to know anything about me, you should first start with the light of my world – my family.
We can take this outside if you’d like, but I’m gonna go ahead and say that I have the world’s best parents. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the constant love and support from these two. Although I was hard to handle at times – everyone has to go through the painful teenage years – they remained my loudest cheerleaders. I am forever grateful for the example you have set before me. You have shown me what it means to be love and serve others, that nothing on this earth is truly mine, and to always “think of the need instead of the deed”.
Basically, my parents are great leaders who (humble brag) have raised some pretty cool kids if you ask me. My “small” family of 11 continues to grow everyday and I’m so thankful for each and every one of them.
Not only are my parents the world’s greatest, my siblings are hands-down the best siblings I could have asked for. My sister, Kathryn, never ceases to amaze me with her child-like love and wonder (not to mention, some KILLER dance moves). My brother, Press, is such a disciple of Christ it’s hard not to see God’s glory in everything, big or small, that he does. It’s no wonder that he landed a beautiful wife that matches his enthusiasm for Christ’s love. My oldest brother, Zac, is the hardest worker I know and the most wonderful servant to his amazing wife and 3 kiddos.
So you could say I had some pretty good examples of Jesus’ love in my life. And people wonder what made me want to do this World Race…
While I have a really solid support system now, this blog’s purpose is to extend that support. Through this blog, I’ll do my best to keep you updated on this crazy World Race adventure. I hope the summary of my travels in this blog impacts you just as much as I know they will impact me.
