Hey everyone. I just got an email from my friend Sally who is with the Peace Corps in Cambodia. She really wanted me to pass on the following email to you, so that S Squad would rally in prayer for those in need. Check it out:
“So the reason I messaged you is because I wanted to know if you could get the people who visited Cambodia with you to start intentionally praying for Cambodia. I don’t know if it’s been in the news or not but there has been severe flooding in Cambodia this rainy season. The worst in about 30 years. A lot of people have died and a lot of crops, houses, and livestock have been lost. It’s pretty devastating. The provinces that were hit the hardest are some of the poorest provinces who really can’t afford a disaster like this.
So now there’s all this standing water and the after affects of flooding are really starting to hit such as diseases and complete loss of personal property and businesses. And then there’s these weird political tensions where the government refuses international aid. Idk why.
So the point is I think the best thing we can offer Cambodia is prayer. Prayer for solid recovery and for people’s needs to be met. Also that God can use this as an opportunity to move in Cambodia.”
Please pray…and maybe check in with your contacts and see how they are, if there’s anything else we can pray for or do. Not sure what area of the country this is focused on (I think it’s more of the western part though for some reason.)
