My family…how are you? Hope you are all well! I’ve been reading the blogs that come up on our squad’s page (it’s my homepage lol) and I’ve noticed quite a few hitting ‘the wall’, so in light of this I have decided to share two poems I wrote last month about this thing (I cannot remember if I read them at debrief…I wanna say I did, but then again I don’t know). I shared them with Nikki last month b/c that’s where she was and I think where I was…though honestly at the moment I don’t know where I am on this day…anyways…hope they help:

The Wall

You run and you run upon the race of life,
Set to get to the finish line,
Ready to cross over and cheer for more–
    A steady pace halfway through…

    Then…
         WHAM…
            BAM…
                SLAM…
You hit the infamous wall, ,
A mass of brick and mortar rises before you–
You shudder and quiver, what to do?
All your hard work to get to the race,
Seems for nought, for pretty much squat!
        You despair before your behemoth
Lost in thought and mortal fear…

A still voice rings true:
    “I prepared you for this moment;
I taught you and schooled you with all you need.
You can overcome for I have overcome.
        Fight through…
Fight for me and for you…
Look through the gap in the wall…
One brick down, be strong and…
                    CHARGE!!!!!!

    You look and indeed on brick crumbles;
You see the other side and feel His love,
The comfort and peace of God surrounds you.
Then you whisper, “C-C-Courage you frightened lion.”
        Bite down hard and RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN…

A deafened roar crashes the stratosphere
For one moe child of God…
                Chose…
                    to CRASH through the wall.

Must Go Through

Every runner’s fear
To make the ultimate fall,
Stop mid-race
And hit the infamous wall.

We make the mistake over and over
To believe we can do it alone–
Whether the race or life
We think we’re in the zone!

Yet we must remember–
To fall one must get up,
To hit a wall we must go through
With the overflow of our spiritual cup.

So call on God above
Let His rain of love fall down
Upon your cup to fill
And break you through to the crown.

In case anyone is wondering, I haven’t put them on my blog, b/c I AM GOING to write that poetry book and I don’t want to put everything out on the internet, b/c then nobody would want to buy the book. lol. Love you all! 😀
