I think with most of us we are coming thru a period in our lives that we are changing seasons. For me personally this happened on my 25th birthday which was over the weekend. I believe that I have changed from the season of winter to the season of spring and I think many of you are coming into spring also. When I think spring I think flowers, birds, the trees coming to life, and everything becoming green again with the snow finally melting.
What else comes with the spring? Well coming from the Great Lake State of Michigan it means very unpredictable weather. You can go to bed and it has been 80 degrees that day and wake up to a foot of snow by morning. Also, some pretty severe storms come thru during this season. When Nikki called me yesterday and said there was 40 days to launch my mind went straight to Noah and the 40 days of storms. This morning I am reminded by the other post that Jesus went thru 40 days of trials, and I remember that the children of God before crossing into the Promised Land spent 40 years in the wilderness and had to count on God to show up at times. The Bible likes the number 40 I guess for trials.
I’m not saying that’s what we are going to get 40 days of storms. I am saying the storms do play a vital role in our lives. Like in the spring when the storms come, no matter how powerful and destructive they may be they still bring much needed water and life to all things. And the things that survive the strong storms usually have deep roots. And same goes for our lives, when the storms come it is needed to help something grow in life and to bring life. We should not worry for we are rooted in Jesus, the mighty rock. In fact we are told in James 1:2 Count it all joy when you fall into various trials (storms). Verse 3 goes on to say, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. NKJV
I’ll take that storm that hit me yesterday. For I know its rain will produce something in my life. And my reminder to y’all when we are struggling because of support, when those storms get pretty nasty and Satan is all up in our grill, it is a time to rejoice, it is time to party and have a great time for we are growing. And don’t forget PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE!!!
