To quote a favorite saying of
my Dad’s, “It doesn’t get any better than this!” But on the World Race
it does!! Today we officially started
month #8 at a ministry site in Swaziland called El Shaddai. We arrived in the middle of the night, around
3AM, after another crazy travel day. What should’ve taken 3 hours turned into
14 because at the border our bus driver did not have a passport and once we got
a new driver he wasn’t able to master the rugged dirt roads winding to our new
home for the month. But the wait was
well worth it when I woke up in the morning to this view outside the window
next to my top bunk!!
It was 8:30AM and
everyone was still sound asleep while I quickly rinsed the sweat and dirt from
our long travel day off in a brisk shower and headed to the kitchen to grab
some coffee. Ready for some epic quiet time Isat outside on “pride rock” for
this view of the Kufiaeni Valley, which means “place of arrival”, and the
Komati River. I felt like I was in
heaven and opened my bible to Psalm 23:
The Lord is my Sheppard; I
shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads be besides quiet waters.
He guides me in paths of
righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my
life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Oh how these verses ring
true! Our God is so awesome and as I
seek and follow Him, I do not want for anything and my cup surely
overflows!Every step of this race He has provided endless blessings, some more
apparent than others, but all perfectly timed to be just what I need. Here at El Shaddai I’m not sure what God has
in store for me, but I know it is good.
I know and trust the plans He has for me are good.
