About a month ago I had a conversation with a customer that I used to speak with on a regular basis when I worked at Save-On as a cashier. He was an acquaintance who became a friend and turned into a faithful supporter and follower of my blog while I was away. As our short conversation came to a close he told me that I needed to write more blogs because he missed reading them. To be honest it had never occurred to me that people actually read my blogs let alone enjoy them. The things I had to say never seemed that significant or important to me.
It may seem a bit funny to some but I put a lot into my job as a cashier and I intentionally sought to see it as an opportunity to reach out to people and not simply as a pay check. Although I outgrew my position there I still miss the ease with which I was able to interact with a wide range of people within the community.
During my time working at Save-On I did more than just accept Save-On cards, scan groceries and offer carry outs. God brought me other work to do. For example I was given opportunities to meet and speak with a few people who were depressed and considering suicide, I was there to listen, encourage and mourn with individuals who were grieving the loss of family members, I was a listening ear to a lot of lonely people and was able to be an encouragement to a good number of individuals who came in after a long day and just needed someone to smile at them.
I just think that people are worth that kind of dignity, respect and acknowledgement – to me people are significant. But I didn’t know that I was significant to other people until recently. The catalyst for that realization was the conversation I mentioned at the beginning of this post.
SO… I have wrote a few blog posts here at this blog because I know that there is an email distribution list attached to this specific site. I wanted to make sure that those individuals who are still interested in following my journey would be able to tune back in so that they don’t miss this transition.
I have another blog that I would LOVE to have everyone who misses my stories follow.

Please check it out and add yourself to the email list!
AND If you happen to be the person whose conversation sparked this response absolutely leave a comment here or on the other blog to let me know you got this and are able to follow.
I will absolutely try to write once in a while. 🙂
