Hello!

We’ve been here in Cambodia for a couple weeks now, and if you haven’t
read any of my teammates blogs than you might not know we have been
partnering with team Indelible these past couple weeks, and we will be
with them for one more week. We will be doing ministry for one more
week before Cambodia debrief, a trip to Siem Reap, and moving on to
Thailand. Before I get ahead of myself let me update you on our
ministry for this month.

We are working with a church based in Phnom Penh called New Life Fellowship. This group of people is on fire for Jesus and for the country of Cambodia. There are many programs and ministries in the church, and one could get lost reading about all of the different things they have going on. While many programs and things going on can often be a distraction for churches in the U.S., here in Phnom Penh it seems as if it is working like clockwork. Sure, our lead contact, an Aussie named Karen who knows the ins and outs of all their work, would probably laugh at me if I said it ran like clockwork, but to see all of their many ministries, and to also see them worship God on a Sunday morning, is a great experience. The staff of this church are driven and have a powerful vision for reaching all of Cambodia. There are programs for building homes for the poor in the provincial communities, for taking care of children at risk, for the youth who live in the slums, numerous English classes taught for free, rice banks, prayer meetings, and the list goes on and on. What this church ultimately stands for; however, is for it’s people to know God in a personal and intimate way, through the forgiveness of our sins through Jesus Christ, to know God’s Word, and to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
Helping those in need, giving them jobs, teaching them how to care for their families, teaching English for free to students who wouldn’t be able to go to college without it, helping slum children who need proper hygiene and someone to play with, building a home for a person who would never be able to afford it: all of this flows out of the love the have received from God, and now desire to share with others.
Indelible and Tikvah are working this month with NLF, and we are gathering info for them to update their website, we are creating 5 videos they will use in their church, we are making aesthetic and technical improvements to their main meeting room, and doing a lot of labor and jobs that take the weight off of the staff, so they can do what they need to do. It is a testament to them that on any given day the staff are not in their offices, but they are out doing ministry, and sharing God’s love with those who need to hear about it. Basically it’s a lot of fun working with them, and they are following hard after the Lord and have a deep desire for the people of Cambodia to hear about Jesus. More to come soon.
