It has been too long since my last blog, but that is not because there has been nothing to write about.  With training camp only 4 days away, there seems to be a sense of urgency in my preparations.

The count down has begun!  This is a particularly exciting week because at the end, I will be meeting my squad face to face for the first time!  These last six months of Facebook posts, making  calls and texts, and trying to organize my life so that while I am gone for a year my family can successfully have my taxes done and I don't go to jail upon re-entry to the U.S., are coming to a rapid close. In just a few short days, I get to meet the AMAZING group of people who will become my mentors, prayer partners, support group, dear friends, and family over the next year.

It is hard to imagine that a group of relative strangers will become so close within the next few months we wont be able to bear the thought of leaving each other.  I have been blessed to have been a part of close knit communities and can testify to the unbreakable bond that will form, between a group of people who have varying personalities and share similar passions, when they experience life together.  These experiences will not always be easy, happy, or logical.  They will hold all range of human emotion and reaction.  They will force each of us to grow in our reliance on Christ and in character.  We have been given a gift!

We have a chance to encourage, bless, motivate, love, embrace, care for, build up, strengthen, empower, serve, and heal our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Please pray for S squad:

Pray that we will learn to love each other with Christ's love

Pray that each one of us seeks the Lord's will in our lives and acts in that will

Pray that training camp will begin the process of building friendships and trust among our squad

Pray the Holy Spirit is poured out to overflowing, so that we might be living examples of the love and power of the living God!

Thank you for all of your prayers and support!
