What would happen if 11 guys went off together with no women around?  What would dress code look like?  What would the dialogue sound like?  What would the worship be like?  About a week from now, I will be living with 10 other guys and no girls.  The shirts are coming off.  The stories are coming out.  The Spirit is coming down.

Next month the guys are going to do a MANistry month all alone in the mountains north of Chang Mai, Thailand.  We will probably be building septic systems and installing toilets.  We will also possibly be building a well and water filtration systems in neighboring villiages.  Talk about a man month.  Shirtless construction and toilets.  So funny.

On our days off, we plan to rent a bunch of motos and go ridin’.  There is also talk of climbing small mountains and swimming in waterfalls, but nothing is set in stone.  We do not know if there will be internet in this villiage or not yet.  But we will be close enough to Chang Mai that we would most likely be going into the city a few times to use it.

Another possible aspect of ministry is that we might be going across the border into B to do youth street ministry for a week or so.  From what I understand, B is a “closed country” in that they’re not too fond of Christian missionaries.  So now we will be able to pull out all those excuses on why we are there and what we are doing.  We will definately look up the laws reguarding that so we know what we “can” say and do.  So pray that the Lord will cover the authorities’ eyes so we can preach to the unpreachable.  And pray for our boldness to preach in the midst of possible persicution.

Before I went on the Race, my friend Scott Johnson asked me weather or not I was afraid of being killed for my faith while on the Race.  And my answer has not changed.  No.  A long time ago, I fell to my knees and gave my life to the Lord.  I told Him that my life was His to command as He saw fit.  It was not said as lip service.

If He sees fit to have me die as a martyr out here, then so be it.  I would be honored to be able to lay my life down in the ultimate test of faith and devotion.  And if He sees fit to bring me home and live a full life of walking with God, then Halleluiah.  So my real prayer request from you, my beloved brothers and sisters, is that I would be an effective witness to the glory of Jesus Christ, in life, or in death.

So God only knows what will happen when 11 guys do MANistry for a whole month in the mountains north of Chang Mai, Thailand.  What WILL the dress code look like?  What WILL the dialogue sound like?  What WILL the worship be like?  In the words of the girls on the squad, “What happens at manistry, stays at manistry.”
