This next chapter of the Moments of Majesty blog series actually ocured back in January the night before the cloud experience.  About a week ago we were just reminiscing about the year so far and this story came up.  So here it is, third in the series, first in chronological order.  Enjoy.

It was our first of two nights in the village of Montecito and we set up our tents on a hill next to the church.  We built a fire and Tim prayed protection via angels over the property before going to bed.  That night Teri woke up at about 4:00 in the morning, hearing footsteps near her tent.  She was afraid and began praying that God would wake Tim up so that he would do something manly in order to remedy the situation.  After a half hour and no waking Tim, the footsteps stopped and she was able to go back to sleep.

The next morning she found out that she was the only one that heard them.  It still bothered Teri so, to make her feel better, Tim and I placed our tents on either side of the one entrance to the property.  That night we got together as a team to pray protection over the property.  That night, Tim awoke at 4:00 in the morning to footsteps near his tent.  At this point Tim was a bit shaken at the thought of there being someone actually outside his tent.  He felt rather convicted at his anxiety and lack of trust in God’s protection.  He laid there praying for a few minutes.

Suddenly Tim just decided to go out there and face whatever lay beyond his tent door.  He burst out of his tent, ready for a fight, and no one was there.  He walked around several minutes trying to find any footprints or signs of a visitor, but there was none.  So he went back to his tent and prayed, as he could not yet sleep from the adrenaline rush.  He started off praying forgiveness for his doubt in God’s protection, and after a while just kinda started asking God what the deal was with footsteps and no visitor.  God answered, quite vividly, “You prayed for angels.”

Amazing.  We prayed for angels to protect our grounds and really gave us angels.  How many times do we pray that with such emptiness, not actually expecting God to show up.  We don’t think that the lesson he was trying to teach us that night was one of trust, but one of faithfulness.  Just reminding us that we can trust God no matter what.  (You’re welcome, Lesly)

Old stories finding new ears.  The Lord works in many ways.  I do not know if I will ever again hear angels walking around my tent, but one thing I am sure of is that God will continue to show his faithfulness in new and exciting ways.  Until next time, keep your eyes open for your own Moments of Majesty.
