Glory to God!

We got to do some in-your-face physical labor ministry this month.  I’ve been waiting for this most of The Race.  It was our ministry to help fix up 2 houses on a farm bought by Iris Ministries in order to start a children’s village where each house would hold 10 children in a family environment.  We had to get the houses ready to go for the opening at the end of the month.  This included painting, assembling bunk beds, painting, baseboards, and more painting!  It was a close call, but we finished the morning of the opening!  Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, running like chickens.  It was nothing short of glorious!  Multiple troubleshooting sessions with splitting baseboards that wouldn’t stay in the wall, muscle tension from intricate graphic painting, and exhausted arms from transporting 200lb bunk beds.  It was everything I had hoped for.  Plus a few preaching opportunities!   An arguably perfect month of ministry.

Like I said, we got it finished the morning of the opening, but because of red tape paperwork from Social Services, the kids can’t move in quite yet.  However, Jean and Tiesa Nicole (ministry directors)  said they should have that all cleared up in less than a month.  So pray for clear roads.  Micheal’s Children’s Village is officially up and going… with no children.  Ironic.

We fly out to Zambia on Wednesday.  We will be working with an orphanage with nearly 400 kids.  I guess they didn’t stop at 10 per house!  Get the cameras out, cos here we go again!
Until next internet,
