Hello blog readers,

It’s blog time!  Not very often we get to go to the internet cafe’s.  Update on the situation: we’re up in the mountains
in Arroyo Cano and it is beautiful up here!  We have been staying at the Menonite Church there sleeping in the sancuary.
We have met a lot of nice church folk, like Pastor Gregorio (the unofficial 8th member of Team Manna), Joseas (our 17 year
old mountain trail guide), Carrudi and Leo (Lay-oh), sisters in ministry, and the cute little lady at the corner store that
sells us our purified water.
We have also had lots of kids coming around and asking us to play with us on the playground, which is fine until
they ask you to push an old, rusty, no-bearings-left merry-go-round with 10 to 20 kids on it dragging their feet who want
you to do it again and again with no comprehension of the term “no mas” (no more), at which point it becomes quite the
little chore.  We try to stay away from the playground for the sake of our legs.  We figure we can play Rojo Rojo Verde
(Duck Duck Goose) in the blank area across the street.
It’s kind of cute though.  When the kids want us to come out and play, which is about 16 hours a day, they will
open the shutters on the windows (no glass) and shout “Americano” at the top of their lungs until we respond.  Well accually it was cute for the first two days, then it was a little annoying.  Especially because we couldn’t communicate to them that we were having quiet time or praying or listening for a word from God.  They would just keep on yelling at the top of their lungs.  Even when we went to sleep!  But God revealed to us that this was something we had to get used to.  That when we signed up for the World Race, and for Christianity, we gave up all rights to silly stuff like personal space and comfort.
He promises to meet our needs and give us rest, everything else is fluff.  Expendable fluff, at that.  Part of living out of faith is giving up your rights to everything and trusting God to show you what you really need.  And don’t worry, He’s got you covered!
