About me… Well, my name is Nathan Chaplin and I was born and raised in Winfield, Iowa (a small town in SE Iowa aprox. 1 mile x 1 1/2 miles). I was a cradle Christian who fell away a little after HS. But I’m back with a blaze teaching Sunday School, going on mission trips, and plotting to become a preacher after this trip (and after Bible College). I have a passion to teach truth with no holds barred, pointing out that God’s ideal church would be filled with alcoholics, druggies, criminals and teen mothers worshiping along side of loving Christians who truely have a heart for the lost. As a church, we tend to invite only the pretty-well-behaved to church and avoid associating with the people just a little too happy with their sin. Is it not interesting that the only people Jesus ever royally chewed out was the religeous leaders? He didn’t scold the woman who had 5 husbands. He didn’t rebuke the woman who almost got stoned to death for adultry. He just forgave them and loved on ’em. Most people know that what they do is wrong. They don’t need someone reminding them of that. They need someone who loves them enough to help them. That is our role in Christ. To meet the world with love. Now don’t get me wrong. Sin is sin and we cannot say it is okay. But we can say that THEY are okay. That God still loves them and is still offering the gift of loving forgiveness.
Well, on the lighter side of things, I enjoy deep theological debates and being proven wrong. I love movies and talking about them. I love music. I love reading the lyrics and discussing what they mean. I love guitars and trying to play them. I’m really into hard rock and metal, but I actively listen to almost all genres from pop to country to opera (excluding only R&B). I love learning new things, especially statistics amd quirky little facts. I love joking a

round and making silly noises around babies. I LOVE kids, but have none of my own (tear, tear:). I’ve always wanted to be a comedian, did a talent show thing with it once and crashed & burned. Nobody laughed. A few cracked a smile. It was great. I love smiling, and despite being an introvert, I love people. I love hearing stories of God’s little miracles in everyday life. So if you got any, please send ’em my way. Well enough about me. Let’s talk about you. Drop a blog or an e-mail. Tell me what you like and love. Can’t wait to hear it! Until then, keep it fake!
