Tomorrow at 10am we will begin our journey to the Dominican Republic! Whoohoo!! These past few days have consisted of team building, team feedback, and really just getting to know whom I am going to be serving along side of. We have also have been in meetings, that consisted of information that will help us have the best possible journey this next year The main thing was attitude. Most of you all know I like to be in control of a situation, really no matter how big or small. That is where my ego tends to take the lead. When an AIM leader spoke on attitude these past few days and how we are in control of how we handle of our circumstances, something clicked with me. Even though I do not know the exact plans as what we do once we land in the DR, I can control my thinking and always pick the positive option when faced in circumstances that are troubling and disappointing. God is really showing me, that my attitude and choice to stay positive and be thankful is the ONLY thing I am in control of and I should focus on that, not the things like where my next meal is coming from, what is my teams next move, or where am I sleeping. All of those things will leave me frustrated, angry, and exhausted in the long run. God knows what He has in store for me, and He wants me to make sure I trust Him and remain thankful in the most desperate situations. In my weakness, I will become stronger in Him.

I was just told that my team will head out tomorrow morning and arrive in the Santo Domingo, DR late around 9:30pm; we will then have to catch a bus to San Juan where we will drop some teams off along the way. My team will stay over night in San Juan. (not sure what that looks like yet). Then our contact will pick us up the next morning and take us to a mountain village to minister to children, women, teach English and have the privilege to partake in a possible service project. We will be living there in a church for a month. I am so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us in the DR. Please continue to pray not only for my team, but also the people that God has in store for us to meet and make relationships with to share the Gospel.
*I am so excited and blessed that God has given me this opportunity to grow and learn about myself and to share God’s glory and love to the nations.

Support update!
I want to say a HUGE thank you to St. Marks Church and Halvorsen’s for supporting me on this journey. I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support they truly mean a lot to me!!!!! I am currently at $ 9,375. God as provided all of this support! Wow I am still at awe of it all. I still need to be at $15,500 six months into my journey! Like I said before there is not such thing as a small gift. The Lord honors it all!
Thank you again to ALL of my friends and family who are supporting me! I love you all! Stay tune………

SIDE NOTE:
When I arrived in Chicago I realized I needed to get ride of A LOT of stuff in my backpack. I was literally dragging my pack through the airport and on the shuttle because it was to heavy. People were looking at me strangely; I finally stopped trying to walk on the escalator type walkway and just moved to the side and ate grapes while people passed. It was a sight to see! haha
