Here it goes first time blogging.
Today I have been doing a great deal of reading/writing. I have been working on my support letter, my about section on my blog, and I have been reading everyone else’s blog. Each blog I read lifted me up, and gave me inspiration in so many ways. Before I knew it I had been reading blogs for three hours, I can not get enough of them. While searching through my future team members, I found a seemingly familiar name. My friend Jaclyn McNeal whom I met in 2010 in Haiti on my first overseas mission trip is on my team for the World Race. This is a total surprise, we had no idea each other wanted to go on the World Race. God works in the wildest ways. I am so excited and thankful to be going on this journey and to make things even better God gave me a friend to share my experiences coming in the next few months with support raising.
On a different note, I attend Winter Jam in Greensboro, NC last night. I had the opportunity to volunteer with Holt International which is an organization that sponsors children around the globe who are in foster care or orphanages. Taking care of a child in any country is costly. With Holt international people pledge 30 dollars a month to support these orphans while they are in foster care until they get adopted. Once they are adopted you are done, you can then make a decition if you would like to sponsor another child. Last night I saw youth groups join together and support children. It was amazing to see God at work last night. The musical guests were amazing and to see thousands of people worship the Lord together is beyond words. Over 340 children were sponsored last night, which is awesome!
