I think I spend a decent amount of time at Starbucks. It's quite convenient, being only a few minutes away. I decided to create a blog series of all the blogs I end up writing while sitting in Starbucks. I hope you enjoy!

Why is it that I can always stay more focused while doing anything productive at Starbucks? When I'm at home attempting to be productive, I often get distracted and procrastinate. If I go to the library, I end up bored the whole time. Ironically, I think part of what helps me focus is people watching. There's something revealing about how a person waits for their caffeinated beverage. At a glimpse, I can catch a part of their personality. Perhaps they're impatient, or maybe they just are not a morning person. Some people are very friendly and chatty, asking the baristas about their day. Others stand still with a blank stare, probably stressing over what their day will look like. I enjoy people watching. I like learning about people. I can see that, while God made every human on earth distinctly unique, He used a lot of the same personality traits because He adored those traits. Helping those in need is an obvious trait. The Boston Marathon bombing is a prime example because after the first blast, most people ran towards the area of the bomb to save those in need rather than running away from the area for safety. I won't get too much into that, I'll cover my thoughts on the marathon bombing in another blog.

Anyway, back on point. People watching, I claim it as a hobby. Even more ironic is the fact that, not only does people watching help me focus, but I'm naturally an introvert. It's strange that an introvert is easily comfortable around a bunch of strangers, as long as the introvert isn't required to interact with said strangers. That's something I realize I'll need to overcome during my time on the World Race. I actually think that some people may argue that I'm a closet extrovert, because I'm also huge into social video games. I've also been known to play competitively, and at a tournament level (no, not first person shooters. I find them boring). Gaming is a hobby, and a passion. Yes, you can say I'm a nerd.

Which leads me to my next quality, I'm highly competitive. I LOVE winning! I have obsessive compulsive disorder for when it comes to being the best at something. Ok, not really. Sure feels that way though. I have that "If you're not first, you're last" mentality. A note to my teammates, you may occasionally hear me say the phrase "best something NA" while on the race (NA stands for North America). It's a common gaming phrase, meaning you're claiming to be the best of that something in a specific region like NA, EU, etc. Example: Best world racer NA. Lol.

Oh! And another thing, I'm madly in love with sarcasm. If it were possible, I would marry sarcasm and have children with it. I'm fluent in sarcasm, especially paired with dry humor.

When I think of the qualities that God has bestowed in me, the ones that stand out the most are: introvert, passionate, competitive and funny. God chose four of His own qualities when He created me to be the most prominent. I have many other qualities too, like being logical and rational. Though none are as extrusive as the four listed above.

So there's a little bit of who I am. If you're a squad mate reading this, I'm sure you'll learn a lot more while on the race. If you know me well, I'm sorry about the length of this blog post! Most of my blog posts will actually be quite short and reflective.

Be sure to  to my blog to follow my journey!
