Sooo…this has been a big week. Not spiritually or anything, but rather in my appearance.

It all started when the Jubilee girls decided they’d had enough of me wearing my old, faded, discolored, hole-ridden, armpit-stained, nasty t-shirts (can’t imagine why, right?). Sadly, I loved those shirts, and didn’t want to part with them. But, I was out of options. I had bargained and pleaded my case, but there was no getting out of this one. Lucky for me though, Jordan was so desperate to get rid of my shirts that she actually offered to buy me some new ones!! That was the metaphorical straw that broke this camels back…so we went shopping. That in itself is a minor miracle for me, but I took a deep breath and plunged right into the scary and overwhelming world of shopping, and survived with 3 new shirts in hand! Hooray!

Then, two nights ago here at debrief, I made the decision to chop my hair off… that’s right, I now have short hair. Mind you, my hair has not been this short since I was like 9 years old. Traumatic? Slightly. Annie Walker (leader of Team Rhema) was my barber, and I must say, she did a superb job! She stuck it out and made it through all the grossness that was my hair, including the smell of some of the less-than-clean parts. Well done, Annie. You’re a champ.
So now, Matthew Rock has three brand new clean shirts (one of them a polo even!) and a new haircut!
Big moments on the World Race!
