My name is Matthew Fitzgerald and I'm extremely excited about this journey God has called me on! I have just graduated from Ogeechee Technical College with an associates degree in Business Administrative Technology. I currently work as a bank teller at Farmers and Merchants Bank of Statesboro, Ga. I'm also a photographer on the side (Fitz Photography) which is my passion. I hope to one day be doing that as a full-time career. As far as free time goes, I love to just hang and laugh with friends, go fishing, taking pictures, go to the gym, and basically anything that involves the outdoors!
I was blessed with Godly parents and four siblings (two brothers and two sisters) who I can't even imagine leaving for 11 months! But that's another reason why I know this is something God has called me to do and not some bright idea that I came up with! My parents have homeschooled each of us and have taught us what it truly means to be a Christian. I wish everyone could have the relationship with their parents and siblings as I do.
I have been brought up in church and very much involved through youth groups, drama teams, outreaches, and helping out in the nursery. I'm currently a member of Statesboro New Covenant Church. I have been attending there since January 2012 and what a blessing that has been! I have grown so much in my walk with Christ and have met some amazing people over the past year and a half! I went on my first missions trip this February to the Dominican Republic. That was the beginning of a huge calling on my life to serve in international missions.
I will be serving as Jesus' hands and feet amongst 11 countries in 11 months in 2014 and I'm excited to share this journey with you and hope that you too here at home are blessed by following my blog!
