Before I start, I want to thank everyone for supporting me to travel and do what I am made to do!

My life has taken a drastic turn since being home. The World Race really changed me and yes it’s easy to fall right back into the hustle of things but everyone would be doing this if it were an easy gig. Something I’ve learned all last year is to fight for what you want. It won’t be handed to you and then you live happily ever after. You have to fight for what’s next. It’s not a bad-negative thing to have to fight, it just shows your determination to not settle.

Since being home I’ve been going down memory lane remembering some of the life changing lessons I’ve learned. Switching back to normal life – or whatever that really is-  I’ve had to remember to take each day at a time, get involved with good community/church, which takes time if you’re moving around, stay in touch with squadmates or people who were supportive of your travels and seek out new opportunities and friends. I also notice many options could come flying at you all at once that may seem overwhelming but this is a perfect time to seek The Lord for direction. As for me I have a few options sitting before me and I’ve been learning to rest and seek The Lord for direction instead of just jumping on it and going full speed since I don’t know what rest feels like at the moment.

Something with our culture is you have to know what you’re doing and how you’re getting there and that is so overwhelming when you don’t even know what you want to do next. Its actually ok to not even have a clue to what is next. It may seem frightening (trust me I know)  but look at it this way, you have a blank canvas sitting right in front of you, you finally have this opportunity to make your own masterpiece out of the paint the Lord hands you. It’s a beautiful, freaking scary thing. This is my motto and it keeps me in line when I let my thoughts cloud me with fear of the “unknown”.

Dont forget what you love, you don’t have to be oversees to do what you love. Always remember what makes you happy. Do those things each day, while you’re at work, sing in the car, tell a stranger you think they’re awesome, smile at the ones who look like they hate life, and just never lose yourself.
