I’ve already been in Malaysia for a month and a half now, and I have felt more loved than I ever thought I would be on the race. As I mentioned in my last blog post, my team and I are working with a small local church in Sungai Petani called Bethel Assembly. The majority of the church is family and we have been extremely blessed to get to know them since being here. The first week of being here, we didn’t do a whole lot and I honestly thought I was going to hate being in Malaysia. But then, we went Christmas caroling.
Over those three days of caroling, we got to know the family more, and started to fall in love with where God has placed us. During Christmas, and for an entire week after, we started to feel like we were apart of the family. We started to realize their unconditional love for each other which they greatly extende even to us. They want to include us in everything they do and have even told us multiple times how much apart of their family we are.
There are also a few other people who aren’t related to the family in any way, but they have accepted them and have loved them, as well as us, so well. Yes, they have had their problems, but they still choose to fight for each other and love each other unconditionally.
Isn’t that how we should be towards each other? Unconditionally loving each other and fighting for each other no matter what.
Even though it has only been a month and a half here in Malaysia, I know I will already be able to take away so much. The Raj family already has a huge place in my heart and I will be able to tell countless stories about them. They are people that I will never forget.
