One of the things I always hear when I tell people I’m going on the race or any mission trip is, “Oh I wish there were more people like you in this world” or “Oh I wish I was brave enough to do something like that.” And for a while, I agreed with them and even kind of thought I was special because I was trying to make a difference in the world.

But I’m not special and I’m really not even that brave. I’m simply living out the calling that God has for my life.

So now when someone says that to me, I kind of get upset. Why aren’t there more people like that in this world? I’m not saying you have to be a preacher, a missionary, or even some who works in the ministry, but someone who is living out their calling.

I feel as if many people look at missionaries and preachers and think they are better than everyone else. But they aren’t better than anyone, they just have a different calling. They look at them and think they could never be like them because of their past. But guess whats? God doesn’t care about your past because His son died for our sins.

You don’t even have to be called to be a preacher or missionary or someone who works in the ministry. Maybe your calling is to be a lawyer, a doctor or even a stay at home parent. You don’t even have to go to another country to share Gods love.

We as believers should be showing His love for us in our everyday lives. And I’ll be one of the first to admit that it can be hard, especially here in America, but we have to remember that He is so much bigger than what anyone thinks of us.

We are all called to be world changers. We are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Whether we are a doctor, a preacher, or a teacher, we are all called to something great.
