Ever since I returned from my trip to China, God has been showing me a lot. He has begun showing me that I have made plans for myself that I thought were His plans for me, but they weren’t. He has shown me that there is no need for me to rush through college. Once I started my first semester of college I knew God was calling me to more. I had previously heard about this thing called, The World Race, through the organization, Adventures In Missions, from a friend but didn’t really think it was for me. I kept looking into and I stumbled upon, The World Race Gap Year, but I still didn’t think I was supposed to go. Once again God brought up that I had been making plans for myself. So I applied and I got in!
The World Race Gap Year is a 9 month mission trip for college students. Next September, I will be taking a year off from college to serve and love on God’s people. I will spend three months in Central America, three months in Africa and three months in Southeast Asia! While on The World Race, my team and I will work in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities, work in orphanages and simply share God’s amazing love that He has for us.
As I have done in my past mission trips, I’m coming to you for financial support. In order for me to leave for this trip, I have to be fully funded. The total cost of this trip is around $12,500 and this will cover all of my field expenses for my trip. I also ask that you would please pray for me, my trip and my team. Being gone for nine months will be a new adventure, and being with new people will be a new experience for me. We will be spending a lot of time together and face many challenges. I ask that you would keep us all in your prayers and for everyone we encounter.
