Hey there, I’m Mackenzie! I’m from Amarillo, Texas, I’m 18 and in my first year of college. I’m an avid lover of coffee and traveling. I hope to one day be able to visit every country! The nations have my whole heart but Texas will always have a place in my heart. I’m called to spread God’s love to the nations and I couldn’t be more excited!
I’m extremely blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing and supportive family! I have two amazing younger sisters and one awesome younger brother! My parents are also pretty amazing. They push me to dream bigger and crazier dreams!
When I was a junior in high school, I decided that I was going to be a nurse but I new I was called to the nations as well. So I decided that I would go to college for nursing and then after I graduated I would move off to another country. I was okay with this idea and I automatically assumed that this was the plan God had for me. Fast forward to this past summer. I met someone who had been on the World Race previously and they had told me a little bit about it. In August, I had the amazing opportunity to go to China. While there God started showing me that I had made some plans that I thought were His plans for me. After I got back and started college, I became really interested in the World Race Gap Year. I didn’t think it was realistic because I was supposed to go college, not take a year off to travel the world. Once again God brought up that I was making plans for myself, so I decided to apply for the World Race Gap Year and I got accepted!! Taking a year off from school is a big step but I have complete peace about it.
I’m extremely excited about this and I can’t wait to see what God has store for not only me but my team as well!
